How to Setup Secure Access Control with QR Codes

Updated May 20, 2026. Publisher: QR Code Ticket by Darkaa.

Deploy a professional ticketing and entry system using just Google Sheets.

1. Centralize Your Guest Data

Start by opening a new Google Sheet. Create columns for the essential information: 'Name', 'Email' (for sending tickets), and 'Ticket Type' (e.g., General, VIP). Paste your attendee list into these rows. This sheet acts as your central database—no external software is needed.

2. Generate and Distribute Secure Passes

Open the 'QR Code Ticket' add-on. Map your sheet columns to the ticket fields. Choose to generate individual PDF tickets and send them via the built-in email or WhatsApp service. Each QR code is cryptographically unique to that row in your spreadsheet.

3. Validate Entry at the Door

Download the check-in app on your mobile device (iOS or Android). Log in and select your Google Sheet. The app will sync your data. Position your staff at the entrance to scan guest QR codes. The app will show a green 'Valid' screen for authorized guests and a red warning for duplicates or invalid codes.
