Frequently Asked Questions about School Attendance QR Code Systems

Everything schools and universities need to know about digital attendance tracking with Google Sheets.

Setup & Privacy

What student data fields are supported?

There are no restrictions. You can include Student IDs, Homeroom numbers, Parent Email, or Medical Notes. Every column in your Google Sheet becomes a field you can display on the scanner or use for verification.

Is it safe to use for student data?

Yes. Your data lives in your own Google Sheet and isn't stored on external servers. The add-on simply generates the codes and helps the mobile app read them.

Can I print these for Student ID cards?

Absolutely. You can generate a PDF with QR codes for all students, which can then be printed on badges, stickers, or ID cards for daily use.

In the Classroom & Field Trips

Does it work offline for field trips?

Yes! You can sync the student roster to the check-in app beforehand. This allows teachers to verify attendance on buses or remote field trip locations without needing an internet connection.

Can we track attendance for different classes?

Yes. You can create multiple 'Sessions' (e.g., Math, Science, Morning Assembly). You can then scan students into specific sessions to keep granular records of where they were and when.

How much does it cost for a school?

You can try it for free with up to 20 students. For larger groups, we offer competitive pricing. If this is for a student-run event or club, you may qualify for our free sponsored mode for up to 10,000 attendees.
