How to create a QR Code Guest List in Google Sheets

Ditch the paper and pen. Here is how to set up a professional, digital check-in system for your next event in under 10 minutes.

Prepare your Google Sheet

Start with a simple sheet containing your guest list. You really only need a column for names, but you can add columns for Email, Phone Number, or Status (e.g., VIP, General). There is no strict format—the add-on reads whatever columns you have.

Generate and Send QR Codes

Open the 'QR Code Ticket' add-on. Select the columns that contain your guest data. Choose a simple template for your ticket or just the QR code itself. You can then blast these out to your list via Email or WhatsApp directly from the sidebar. Each guest receives a unique code.

Scan Guests at the Door

Download the tracking app (available for iOS and Android). In the add-on, click 'Get Check-in Code' and scan it with the app to link your device. Now, as guests arrive, simply point your phone at their QR code. The app will show you their name and status, mark them as 'Arrived', and prevent duplicate check-ins.
