How to run event check-in without Eventbrite

Updated May 20, 2026. Publisher: QR Code Ticket by Darkaa.

The short answer

If you already have your attendee list in Google Sheets or collect registrations with Google Forms, you do not need a full event platform just to run check-in. QR Code Ticket adds the missing pieces around the tools you already use: personal QR tickets for every guest, email or WhatsApp delivery, phone scanning at the door, and attendance records in your own spreadsheet. There is no percentage taken from your ticket sales and no monthly subscription; you pay per event or buy a reusable bundle.

Step by step

  1. 1.Keep your list where it is

Your Google Sheet or Google Form stays the source of truth. There is no import, no export, and no second attendee database to keep in sync.

  2. 2.Add QR tickets around it

The add-on creates one personal QR code ticket per row or per form response, styled with your logo and event details.

  3. 3.Deliver tickets your way

Send tickets by email or WhatsApp, from your own account, with your own words. Guests receive a PDF ticket, not a link into another platform.

  4. 4.Scan at the door with any phone

Your team scans with their phone browsers; no hardware, no staff app, no per-device fees, and it keeps working offline.

  5. 5.Keep your data

Attendance lands in your spreadsheet. When the event is over, you still own the full record, in a format every colleague can open.

Common questions

How is this priced compared to Eventbrite?

There is no percentage of ticket sales and no subscription. You pay per event for the tickets you generate, or buy a check-in bundle whose credits you can reuse across events. Small test events up to 10 attendees are free.

What does Eventbrite do that this does not?

Eventbrite is a full event platform: public event listings, ticket sales pages, payment processing, and marketing tools. QR Code Ticket deliberately does not sell tickets for you; it turns the attendee list you already have into tickets and check-in.

Can I sell tickets and still use this for check-in?

Yes. Collect payments however you like, keep the buyer list in your sheet or form, and use QR Code Ticket for delivery and door check-in.
