A QR code ticket is a normal ticket whose barcode is a QR code that is unique to one guest. The organizer sends each guest their own code by email before the event. At the door, staff scan the code with a phone camera, and the scanner instantly shows whether the ticket is valid and whether it was already used — so a screenshot shared with a friend gets rejected on the second scan. Every scan is recorded against the guest list, giving the organizer a live attendance count. The list can be a Google Sheet with one guest per row, or a Google Form collecting registrations. Each row or response will become one ticket.

2.Each guest receives a unique QR code
The add-on generates a different code for every guest and sends it by email or WhatsApp as a PDF ticket. Guests show it on their phone or printed on paper — no app to install.

3.Staff scan codes at the door
Anyone helping at the entrance opens the scanner on their own phone and points it at each code. A valid ticket shows the guest's name and a green confirmation in under a second.

4.Duplicates and screenshots get caught
Because every scan is recorded, a code that was already used is flagged immediately. This is what makes a QR code ticket different from a plain PDF: the code can be copied, but it can only be used once.

5.The guest list fills in by itself
Every scan is written back to the sheet or form responses, so the organizer sees who arrived, when, and at which entrance — during the event, not after.
Common questions
Do guests need an app to use a QR code ticket?
No. Guests receive a normal PDF ticket by email and show it on their phone or on paper. Only the people scanning use a phone, and the scanner runs in the browser or a lightweight app.
Can someone cheat with a screenshot of a ticket?
A screenshot scans exactly like the original, but only once. The first scan checks the guest in; every later scan of the same code is flagged as a duplicate and refused.
What if there is no internet at the venue?
The scanner can sync the guest list to the phone before the event and validate tickets offline, then upload the scans when a connection is back.
Does it cost money to get a QR code?
